The creativity of the small business community would amaze you. Jewelers buying diamonds, car dealers buying vehicles, construction businesses buying building supplies, etc... The stories of what people did to get LT GS would entertain FT for months!
Another way to think of it is that people spend a few thousand a year on mileage (status) runs. Do that for 30 years and you get to your 80K. So if you're going to spend it anyway, why slog it out for 30 years. Get it in 6 months the easy way!
I think it'll be abused on a grand scale.
