Having issues finding out if AC flights booked through Expedia are cancelled
I booked flights to Poland from Canada last August on Expedia for travel this August. It was a non-refundable flight/hotel package and although I get the risks associated with doing it this way, after ten years of dealing with Expedia this is the first time I've ever had a problem.
The issue I'm having is that I received an email from Expedia last Friday telling me that Air Canada has cancelled all of my flights and I will now get some sort of as yet undetermined flight credit. Upon reading it I immediately checked the Expedia and Air Canada websites and imagine my surprise when I saw that there are still plenty of scheduled flights to/from Warsaw on the days in August I was supposed to be departing and coming back to Canada. I could book another vacation right now using the same days and the only difference is that there are no direct AC flights from Toronto to Warsaw like there were when I booked in November. The new sked has AC going to Frankfurt from Toronto and then Frankfurt to Warsaw on Lufthansa.
Could someone tell me why it was cancelled with zero notification or flight options from either Expedia or Air Canada before I received the email telling me it had been cancelled when AC still clearly has flights from Saskatoon (the origin) to Frankfurt and then on to Warsaw via codeshare?
I tried calling Expedia but that was useless as my flight doesn't leave within the next 72 hours so I wasn't even able to talk to anyone. I then sent Air Canada an email but that could take up to four months (120 days) to get a reply according to their website.
