The current grotesque BA auction made me think - each of us must have our own personal favourite story about people who waste their miles (or, even more often, opportunities to collect them) in a jaw-dropping and spine-chilling way.

Here is my own personal favourite. Someone I know had been commuting from LHR to CPH (in C) on a weekly basis for two and a half years. That's not it. The person had an opportunity to buy the ticket herself and claim the amount from her employer (yes, 3 miles per pound spent... on a ticket for some £700.00... every WEEK...)

Yes, you guessed it. Never joined ExecClub, never collected one single mile. Put all that spending on a debit card. And no, she had no restrictions from her employer on miles accrual. She was just "not sure whether it was worth it". ^
