When I was a Lyceene I went to Paris on the Silver Arrow. You went by coach from Victoria to Lympe (Ashford) boarded an Avro 748 and flew to Beauvais, From thence you went by coach to Paris Place de la Republique, It was cheap and it took most of the day.
Lydd and Lympne are indeed two different places although not too far apart.

Triva:There is still The Airport Cafe on the A20 at Sellindge near Lympne
