I once took a flight from there to EDI (August 2013). Lovely town, found a cheap but excellent hotel and enjoyed dinner in a beer garden the night before the flight. An easy train ride from Munich. I was of course prepared for the distance, I’d imagine people assuming the airport was close to Munich would be rather disappointed.
