Was the rest of the family excited to visit a double enclave, or were they just being nice and going along for the ride? LOL
Interesting trip report, thanks!

. I think you are right that the visit to Omani 'donut' was a lot more exciting for me than the ladies

. Yes, alot of development in this part of the world. I was reading that people used to sleep on the roof during summer only a generation or two ago.

And those are some amazing drone pictures you took at dawn of the resort and Dibba. Interesting read on the borders and counter-enclave as well!
Thanks,

. We had only briefly visited that part of the UAE before so was good to escape there from Dubai for a while.

I remember our first holiday with my son. He was only 8 weeks old. We got talking to another British couple while we were checking in to our hotel in the south of France. The lady started saying how wonderful and amazing it was that we had brought such a small baby all the way from the UK to the south of France. The hotel check-in queue moved and I didn't have the chance to tell her that we were expats living in France and had only driven a couple of hours down the road!

Thank you,

. A French roadtrip sounds very enticing. We have't been on an airplane yet with her but luckily the roadtrips seem to be pleasantly uneventful

. Hopefully things can eventually normalise and we can take her on another vacation somewhere soon.
