Wrong Rate for an UPGRADE ????
The last two full service Marriott's I went to I asked about an upgrade to their best available room (as opposed to a quality room). Both times I was told that I didn't have the right RATE ?? I said that I thought Platinum members got an upgade to the best available room at no charge ( to be clear I wasn't looking for a suite - just one of the quality rooms).
I was surprised when the front desk made such a huge deal (this is a favour . .. ) about putting me on the concierge floor - even though I didn't have the right "rate".
Has anybody else come across this wrong rate thing??
