Just as a reference, I booked two JAL avios J class seats last night from SIN-HND on BA.com and could see lots of availability on the website around my dates, so it is working. The only annoyance is that unlike CX who allow you tailor the avios / cash amount, JAL will only allow you redeem for the full avios price.

Just been back to this thread as I cannot book SYD-HND flights online through the BA website, yet I checked the SIN-HND flight and it would let me book - strange!!!
Just wondering if it may be a problem relating to the device and/or OS being used. I've had trouble over the last month or so checking flights that involve a LHR-MAN connection for our return flight. For example, using an iPad, even if there is availability in Business on the SYD-LHR and LHR-MAN flights, it will show no availability if I try SYD-MAN. However, if I choose to break the journey at LHR, continuing the same morning, it DOES show availability, although I'm not sure if I did book this way if we would be able to through book our hold baggage to MAN.
