Oh, I beg to differ (that is, before Dec 26, 2003). Though, definetely not in the same league as better quality KLM, AerLingus wasn't all that bad when I flew them in December- certainly not compared to many U.S. carriers and Finnair.

But since EI has adapted the "no frills" approach, I suppose they have now lowered their standards to the likes of EasyJet.
