The OP compared comped airline status with us giving away our product free for a year to everyone, not quite the same thing. Considering that we have kept the price of our service the same, while adding data and features for the last 15 years, we have always tried to be generous to the community. Anyone can manage their subscription renewal preferences on the website for periods when you aren't flying and don't need the service, as has always been the case.
