The norms have been broken quite a few times recently and there are cases of passengers refused entry who end up going somewhere else (NZ passengers stranded in Taiwan and New Zealand refuses to take them back, for example)

Returning into UAE is not an option once you are out through immigration, unless you are UAE passport holder.
