Things I have used Amex Rewards for recently...

I very often grab the $500 Saks gift certificates. They make great gifts for women.

Transferred points to DL to buy AF biz class tickets to Africa.

Transferred points to ANA for F tickets to Tokyo.

That said I split my usage between my Centurion and Starwood Amex. They both have promos now. So I maxed out on the Starwood double point promo and then I used the Centurion for it's double point promo.
