After hiking by the ruins of the last two times anyone tried to establish some form of habitation at Cape Scott (other than the lighthouse), I wish them well.
But one of the reasons I go to these out of the way places is to experience them for what they are, with minimal evidence of 'civilization'.
I still fondly recall climbing out of a slot canyon in Utah to lay on the mesa and peer into a cloudless night sky devoid of aircraft, two days after the border reopened post 9/11. A great respite after a terrible time.
