Ever since the virus spread like crazy in Europe and the US, it’s been pretty clear that the shutdowns were temporary to buy time and hope that late spring and early summer would save the world. No one in their right mind expects a vaccine to make a huge difference in saving lives this year; nor does any such person think we can keep shutdown for the better part of a year. Even 3 months is pushing it. But here is what will happen because of the Balkanized handling of this virus and lockdowns: a country may open up in parts but want to keep bans of sort in place for some or many anyway.
Until recently a Swede or Norwegian could go to Finland without issue. But now Finland wants to crack down especially on persons from Sweden from coming into Finland except under limited conditions.
There goes my May ski trip even if I were found healthy and to have antibodies for this coronavirus.
