This goes back from when Continental introduced the Presidential Plus Card way back in the day, they just set the expiration date +n from what you had left on your existing membership. I would assume something similar would happen, then again Chase is pretty terrible, so I would assume they'd require a 6 month extension to keep the membership. There's not much negative unless you're churning cards.
My UC expires 6/30/20 but my Club Annual Fee posted April 1 (my statement closes the 20th). I actually planned to close this card. If they offer 6 months extra but Chase still wants $450 now....
I will ask secure message for some sort of retain deal.
