The "How to Upgrade on *A Carriers" thread shows the possible ways to upgrade on LH.

If you have any UK vouchers that would do the trick. Otherwise LH or UA miles or vouchers required. Anecdotally there are more op-ups with LH than some other carriers but I wouldnt count on it.
