yeah it’s a great move by delta, especially for current FF, encouraging them to fly this year and count it for next year. The lower thresholds proposed by UA May help incentivize new flyers but not current FF to get on a plane.

I think you are discounting the value of the MQM rollover. Even if you don't have to fly anymore this year to keep your status for 2021, the flying will still have value for qualifying for 2022 status.
