I believe TheAvisGuy works for (not represents) Avis. Sure, we've all found a good deal and paid less than this promo here or there. But this is an extremely good weekly rate for those that are able to use it. Definitely not insulting. If you don't need it, don't qualify or can find a better rate, move on and don't attack an employee that's sharing info. Also airlines seats basically "spoil" if they aren't filled. If the plane is already flying, they're better off taking any price they can to fill it and make a few bucks toward fuel. The incremental cost of an added passenger (basically fuel only these days since no in-flight amenities) is negligible. However, for rental cars, the incremental cost of renting it vs sitting in a lot is significantly different. There's depreciation due to wear/tear, cleaning, insurance, maintenance, etc.
