The Thistle that c-w-s mentions is linked to T5 using the pod system from the car park. I've never stayed there (looks a bit of a dump) but seems to be the best option if the Sofitel is closed.
The Thistle is absolutely fine (ugly building yes, but not a 'dump') - basic and nothing special but clean and adequate for a night's sleep and I've used it many times. As noted, it's connected to T5 using the pods so it's pretty convenient.
