I will mention that for many years at MNL, all pax were required to take off their shoes and leave them at security, and pick them up en masse on the other side. Literally, hundreds and hundreds of pairs of shoes and you had to find yours. When NW would have 3x747-400 departures within a few hours, there were a LOT of shoes to pick through to find yours!
