“Meh” as the kids say! If you’re buying a cash fare, it doesn’t really matter whether something is base fare or something else, you just care what the bottom line is. When it comes to redemptions, it’s their business model, we all know it and signed up to it when we took out the Amex etc. and we have other choices.
