And where should the union send your xmas gift (and the rest of us thank you for increasing rates).. Do you realize if the hotel did this your rates would be jacked because the extra costs would be past on to the customer, and if the hotel can't pass it on, it might not continue as a going concern (ala airlines) since they will be saddled with over-payed underperforming workers. Look at the unionized education system in our country for an overview.

I think they are being coy about when the strike will take place, trying to continue negotiating because no one wants to go out on strike. You could always contact your favorite hotel, inform them you weren't going to stay there while negotiations are pending, and say that you aren't going to spend money with them until the settle with the union.
