If you don't want to use/rebook the return segment later why do you care/what is your concern? That AM -out of the blue - will recalculate the fare for your ticket and charge your credit card? Not in a million years...extremely unlikely IMO.

Obviously, if you contemplate applying for a refund of the return segment it is completely different question.
