I still don’t quite ‘get’ BAs policy regarding any non refundable hotel monies are still non refundable and ‘forfeit’, even if you choose a voucher. Especially in countries such as Spain whereby hotels are in fact force closed! Iberia did the opposite for me on my Easter holiday and are refunding the entire booking in cash without me even having to contact them. Although they did cancel my outbound already.
So what is my strategy going to be for my May holiday. I’d actually like my VE bank holiday trip to Brussels to go ahead, but I’m 90% certain in won’t be. I’ve paid £50 deposit the balance is due Thursday that’s £600. I know I can delay this now to 3 weeks before, but I’d still have a decision to make in mid April. Can I just walk away and lose £50 deposit or will BA pursue me for the balance. To keep the booking going do I pay the balance and hope they cancel it a few days before? But that’s pumping another £600 into a probably speculative 2 night luxury holiday which is not really essential.
im sure many people have these dilemma’s going on and BA could offer a bit more clarity really. A clear strategy for the next 2 months.
