Side note this is the first flight that I have taken since Corona, anyone know if lounge still serve alcohol and food at SFO?
Not surprising at all. Have you seen all the flights with U space just a few hours before departure? I have been upgraded on at least a dozen flight that I never flew as I was changing my itineraries. Usually the upgrade email came before the new itinerary confirmation. With U space open <48 hours before departure any Elite would be eligible for a complimentary upgrade. Having said that though, don't be surprised if you are not upgraded as AS is limiting passengers in F for social distancing.

As others have said, the Alaska Lounge (AL) is not yet open in SFO and paid F & AL Members aren't granted access to the AA Admirals Club Lounge in SFO. Also, U upgrades are not eligible to access the Alaska Lounges; only paid F, AL Members, F awards and AC Members flying AS or AA. When lounges are operating normally you could purchase a daypass. On a complimentary upgrade, there are no options for you in SFO.
