Ok so I’m in a similar position and interested to hear the group thoughts.
I bought LHR_AUH_CMB, with a return ticket MAA_AUH_LHR a few weeks later after a few weeks holiday. Flew 1st part no problems. 2nd part eventually got cancelled, initially MAA_AUH, then subsequently the final leg.
Only option offered is a credit, which is of no use to me as I no longer require the return leg (I made other arrangements to get home), and won’t be able to use it at any point in the next year. I complained to their feedback team to be told that ‘if I wanted to cancel, it would be subject to usual fare rules’, which would be no refund (non-refundable ticket). They don’t seem to understand that *they* have cancelled the flight, and instead try and put the onus on me.
Flight was booked in November, direct with Etihad from the UK on an AMEX.
Can I claim chargeback on half? Is that even possible?
