The details matter and will dictate the outcome. Those details will inform many others who are likely in the same predicament. There are reports, by way of example, that people who initiate chargebacks with US banks based on a carrier's refusal to refund for a cancelled flight, are having their chargebacks -- at least by Amex -- granted within minutes. Conversely, Amex France has been refusing to accept chargeback requests (not simply denying them, but refusing to accept them) for AF tickets.
