It's actually more confusing than that. The Qld rules are very messy.

- You must quarantine for 14 days on entering Qld unless you are an exempt person.

- An exempt person includes, among others, any person who is normally resident in Qld.

- However the 14 day period quarantine applies to Qld residents if they have been outside Australia or have been in an area the CHO of Qld has designated an area where coronavirus is spreading in the community. These areas are published on the Qld Health website.

- These rules don't apply to communities on the state border (ie the Tweed/Gold Coast area) and FIFO workers.
