Personally, even $5k seems like an atrociously low amount to spend for all the perks. United Airlines and MGM Grand would never reward people in such a way.
Considering 80% or more of my stays are at Category 1-2 properties that are HH or HP that means I’m only getting benefits 20% of the time other than the occasional Complimentary Parking at a HH or HP which for some reason charges for parking.

I am grateful for those 10-12 nights a year that I stay at a Category 4 or Higher property where I can relax and enjoy the Globalist Benefits such as Suite Upgrades, Club Access etc.

So I think for what I’m getting it’s more beneficial towards Hyatt considering only staying 10-12 nights at Full Service Properties.

I could stay all my nights on points, but then I’d be out of points, and sometimes it just doesn’t make financial sense to do so.

For example -

A Cat 7 property for $150 a night

Or

A Cat 5 for $255 a night

I would really like to see people MS 5k at a time to hit 140k.

The process goes like this:

- You go to a Simon Mall which sells $500 VISA Gift Cards.

- Purchase 4k of these meaning 8 cards.

- Find a local Walmart that is MS friendly (only about 1 in 5 is, some states/areas none at all).

- Get 2k in Money Orders by using 4 of the Visa Cards.

- Find another Walmart that’s MS friendly likely 40 miles away (in my situation this was the case).

- Get another 2k in Money Orders by using 4 of the $500 VISA Cards.

- Then fill them out and deposit at your local bank into checking. Wait 2 days to process then pay off your credit card using them.

To do this process it costs $3.95 per Visa card and an $0.88 fee per money order, you get 1 Money order per 2 $500 Visa Cards meaning $0.88 per $1,000. You’re paying $35.12 for every $4,000 that you MS.

Meaning if you MS 140k you’re paying $1229.20 to achieve that status. Not account for your time, mileage, wear and tear on your vehicle. Not to mention the process of trying to find Walmart’s that actually allow it or waiting in line sometimes for 30 minutes.

Its not an easy process it’s a very long arduous process that’s very de-humanizing. I did it so that for once in my life my family can have something nice. So that we can live like the top people even for a little bit.

I’m sorry to Hyatt if I’m taking advantage of them, I lost my part of my soul in the process I hope that is penance enough.
