I don't blame you, but you're probably heading to the supermarket to buy some food anyway?
Obviously, for most of us, the amount of gas we'll need in the near future is much less than normal. Personally, I am surprised by how "expensive" retail gasoline still is in the Mid-Atlantic. I would think we'd already be less than $1.50/gallon (a nice amount if you're getting that much off from Fuel Rewards), but it's stayed around $2. Weird because wholesale gasoline prices are now only about 60 cents; double that for taxes and you're still at only about $1.20. But I am certain that prices will trend significantly down in the next month.
The current deal is best for Giant PA customers because, if they wait until April 1 to buy the gift cards, they can use their gas points all the way through May, when you're very likely to be doing more driving. Giant PA customers can also use their points for a "staycation" Easter ham. I wouldn't be surprised if FuelRewards extends its expiration beyond 30 days during this crisis, but who knows.
