Using ticket credit for flight that is later cancelled

Hi,

I voluntarily cancelled my flights. If I use the credit from that ticket to purchase a new flight, what he opens if the new flight is cancelled? Would I be able to get a refund back to my credit card or just another credit to use toward another flight?
