Firstly, many thanks for taking time out to read this -- I do appreciate it.
I just hoped someone might be good enough to advise me on the following situation that I've run up against trying to book
JAL with AA miles - I am trying to book flights for my Aussie mother-in-law based in Sydney in
Feb 2021..
Basically, on her outbound flight (from SYD), AA was showing award space on a
SYD-HND flight in
J, but not in
F. However, JAL, QF and BA websites
were showing
F space. So, I called
AAdvantage Australia and managed to book an
F seat on a
JAL flight from SYD-HND
I am now trying to book my mother-in-law's return flight, HND-SYD.
The flight that I would like to redeem on (
JL51 on
Feb 19, 2021) is:
- Within AA's booking window (circa +330/1 days), and, therefore, also within JAL's, QF's and BA's, too
- JAL's site is showing multiple available J seats
- QF's site is showing available J seats
- BA's site is showing no availability
- AA's site is showing no availability
Even though both JAL and QF sites
are showing availability, should I assume that this is phantom space? I tried calling AAdvantage Australia last night, but they couldn't see any space for this particular JAL flight (JL51).
I'm just a little confused as to whether there is, or indeed,
isn't award space there.
FWIW,
AwardNexus:
- Is showing award space for an OW [QF] search as follows: [QF] HND - SYD 1 x Business FR-02-19 10 hours | 7:00 PM - 06:50 AM | JL51
- Is showing no award space for an OW [JL] search as follows: [JL] HND - SYD 1 x Business FR-02-19 no award availability on this day
If anyone had any advice about this situation, I would be ever so grateful to receive it. Many thanks in adance!
All the best
