One last post to clarify the service. The food was awful, and both crews said to me they were embarrassed to serve it. i think even first class had the same. It consisted of a plastic tray box and second leg drawstring plastic bags with rope tie and contained and awful cardboard chicken sarny with water, small kit kat and tiny cookie in plastic wrapper (first leg). Then cheese roll,, kit kat and chewy oat bar then later (soggy cheese croissant, kit kat, and cereal bar and water (second leg), no booze but a few cans of small fizzy drinks etc in Club bar. There was also tea and coffee, plus top ups of water and juice. Luckily I bought a half bottle of red wine and small Makers Mark bourbon plus several tubes of pringles and some nice chocolate which helped knock me out enough to get 6hrs sleep over the two legs and watched several films, to fill in the time.

I’m not really sure why it had to be so bad to be honest and I’ve actually never had such bad food on any long haul flight, let alone a 22hr one, the sarnys were almost inedible) BUT nobody really cared because they were so happy to be going home! Sadly I didn’t take a picture (apart from a crew selfie) but did talk to the crew for some time about the position they find themselves in, they were a lovely bunch, and as mentioned above, we were all grateful for their efforts.
