Is it possible you're trying to book hotels that are soon closing?

I received an email yesterday regarding an event I was hosting at a Westin in May, stating that they would be closing until June 1, and cancelling reservations for all the guests that had taken advantage of the reserved room block. I still see my reservation online, but I doubt they're allowing new ones while planning to close soon.
