I cancelled a ticket EWR-MCO-EWR in April after 5 schedule changes. Same day flight to see family. The new itinerary had me in MCO for an hour not 10 as I had booked originally. Agent refunded $800 ticket. Online status says

Got an asia trip in April/May (mostly on ANA metal, sold by ua). ANA had schedule changes/cancels which messed up ticket
united online refund page could pull up the PNR, showing multiple duplicated segments due to schedule changes. Cannot continue on refund page (checkbox grayed out)
Decided to wait on call Sunday when estimated time was low... No pushback on asking for refund, very easy
