Even if the all in the current group of US citizens (and probably select non-citizen relatives) waiting to repatriate and seeking such help were taken to the US and that number waiting to get repatriated was taken down to zero, the number would not stay at zero and it would probably rise again to some substantial extent in a matter of weeks or months.
With common carrier flight possibilities still diminishing, the inquiries seeking help to repatriate will likely continue to happen even if the current backlog of repatriation assistance requests were all magically fulfilled.
