Could you please direct me to the best thread discussing Aegean islands recommendations?

I know some parts of the country quite well, through the prism of the horrible refugee crisis. Now I just want to spend my money in Greece and enjoy a sunny vacation during June or September.
Nothing to do with segments, mileage runs and appalling immediate turnarounds. I just want to match my genuine love for Greece, with my desire to keep my carbon emissions as reasonable as possible.
I am happy to take trains and boats instead of planes, when it makes sense.

I am attracted to natural beauty, calm, hikes in the shade, swimming and diving. Not looking for a desert island, but not into hordes of tourists. I was thinking of Naxos, for up to a week of holidays.
What would be your top 3 ?
