It’s difficult to strike the right balance when composing such letters. Ideally, you want to present the harsh reality - as clearly and as honestly as possible ; whilst also offering some room for optimism, and a sense of reassurance / comfort that there will be better days ahead. Overall, I considered the wording of the message (given the totally unprecedented circumstance and context), to be very well-chosen 👍
