We don't know. G-STBG is about 2 hours away from landing Sydney. The question is: will it be carrying any passengers on its return to LHR this afternoon and if so, where will it refuel and get replacement cabin & flying crew.

Whilst I feel bad for people being stranded, the writing has been on the wall for quite some time and the collective wisdom of many very frequent flyers here on FT has for quite a few days been to drop everything and immediately return home. Plenty have chosen to ignore this to: find out about a job offer/go camping/see out their shifts but this was always likely to be the end result of delay.
