Semantics. Even Ambassadors who didn't re-attain Ambassador or Titanium or Platinum are still likely valued customers. Everyone's situation is different and unique -- however, this COVID-19 situation is unprecedented and not business as usual. Organizations, leaders, politicians, etc. will be remembered by the public by how they treated their customers -- big and small. I think its a start that Marriott allows for soft landings in a normal year but considering how much benefits, features, customer service, etc. have been dropped since the reward program mergers -- this is likely just par for the course.
