It's a small percentage of those infected but it has to grow and eventually grow faster than new infections eventually.

It’s really grim. And the faster it happens the more hospital overflow and the more people die. As in hundreds of thousands to millions in the US if it happens fast. Only about as many Americans as died in WWII if it happens slowly.
