Yeah, KL's atrocious AMS-TLV connections have been discussed elsewhere on FT. According to fellow FTers, KL doesn't want its crews to have to overnight in TLV, so they arrive at 1:20am and fly back out again at 5:30am. But I'd think they'd sell a lot more seats if they made the flight at a better time. Who wants to arrive in TLV at 1:20am? It would also help if they flew a widebody plane with a real business class. Then again, a 7 hour layover in AMS could enable one to enjoy the AMS-TLV leg quite a bit.
But I think I'm sticking with my nonstop CO award ticket and forgetting about plat this year.
