I got out on AM last Sunday, before all of this really started to blow up. My flight was half empty (MEX-NYC) - 787 with 36 seats, only 8 occupied.
They like every other airline, are hemorrhaging cash right now. Their largest shareholder Delta is not doing much better. I am going to theorize that they are stonewalling all attempts at refunds and trying to do vouchers in an effort to keep themselves solvent. This is not a swipe or a panic call on AeroMexico. This is simply the reality of all airlines that they are going to need help, and need to conserve cash in every way possible. Pissing off customers like this is one of them.
