Uh, I beg to disagree. Normal, yes, Acceptable, not. But as has been posted many times, MIA is a separate division, a corrupt entity unto its own, from baggage ops to running or building the airport - and no complaints from mere transiting passengers, or attempts by AA, are about to change any of it. WMD, maybe.

Lies from baggage handlers? Shenanigans from TSA and other security employees? Pilfering from bags? Bags stolen? Smuggling drugs? Ridiculous orders form self-imporant people who have no idea what they are doing? Preferential treatment for those known to an employee? All normal. Acceptable? He77 no - stay away from this sewer of airports, is what I do whenever possible. Or recite the Serenity Prayer - often.

And if I must check baggage, I use surplus Army duffels and the like.

It will be interesting to see how AA replies, as you all seem to think this is normal and acceptable. I do not find it normal or acceptable and certainly hope AA does not.
