Defunt Airline #1-Pan Am. First flights between IDL (Yes, that is Idlewild to you kiddies, now JFK!) and ORY (Paris, Orly) on a Pan Am Boeing 707 Jet Clipper. I was terribly young then, 3 years! En route to visit my maternal grandmother in St.-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, France. I would be privileged to ride in first class "President Special" on these flights - very nice, all six members of my family, no less! Over the years Pan Am would take me to LHR, FRA, HNL, TYO, SYD, etc. and I never once had a miserable flight, not once! How many airlines today can you say that about??? Their flight attendant crews were simply terriffic. I "helped out" once by passing out menues enroute to Tokyo via Anchorage from SFO.

#2-TWA-Overseas to ORY, LHR, GNV and domestically coast-to-coast. TWA Royal Ambassador Flights were stellar, and again, I can't really recall having a bad flight with them, either. The f.a. were terrribly attentative and the food actually great!
