AA Bag Delay MIA- 45 Min +- Did they lie?

My email to AA Customer Service (below) says it all----

Anyone have any thoughts on what really happened here? Unusual even for MIA. But I think the Baggage Services person lied to me as the explanation makes no sense.

I will post the reply I get from AA as well.

Below is the email (from their contact form). A bit limiting at 1500 characters.

I wanted to express my concern with baggage services yesterday at MIA. The email is really intended for your baggage management team in MIA as the timeliness and level of service last night for flight 1201 was unacceptable by any standard of service. To help you understand my expectations, I will provide a bit about my travel profile (beyond what you might see from my AA travel patterns). I am a business traveler who logs more than 300,000 flight miles per year for 10+yrs. I travel both on US domestic & International (mainly EU). I traveled last year more than 200 legs and checked baggage aprox 25% of the time. Last night at MIA the time from door of jetway opening to FIRST bag off flight 1201 was in excess of 45 mins. My bag although not last was closer to the 1 hour mark. The bags came off @#26 and it appeared multiple AA carousels were not even in use. We had to wait for 3 other flights bags to come off. When asked Baggage Services (Opp #25) said the reason for the delay was due to flight cancellations from Hurricane Ivan but could not explain how that impacted #1201 That explanation sounds like a story. I am requesting a reply as to why it would take more than 45 mins from door opening to first bag being delievered and please detail what your expected level of service is (in Mins) for delivery of bags. Delays like this are the reason people do not check bags. Please take my inquiry seriously & reply personally (non-form),
