I emailed their US reservations contact about a similar situation for a flight coming up in later March. I provided my preferred option and within 40 hours I got a response and the confirmation of the change I preferred. Super easy.

Thanks for the email address. I just sent an email for the flight cancelation by Singapore Airlines.
I requested my points to be deposited and to extend the dater of expiration to May 2021.
Will see what happens as my miles expiration was in August 2019. I booked the May 2020 trip in July 2019
