I know the feeling. My first attempt at learning was on a three day course in Kailua, Hawaii. I had to postpone after my first day. The waves got the better of me! I was covered in bruises. But what beter place for a first attempt than Hawaii, birth place of great windsurfer Robby Naish! Planning to revisit in the next few years so I keep re-reading your Hawaii trip reports as well. And... rinse and repeat works in the end.
