BA will know how long it took for demand to recover post 9/11 and 2009, and this will probably factor into their thinking as there are no guarantees that demand will return immediately to pre Coronavirus levels.

American have announced that their 767 fleet will be gone by end of May and that their 757s will be gone a year later.
