Do you know what the AI's IT is doing.
There will be systems for
departure control
baggage handling
reservations
availability
revenue management
weight and balance calculations
scheduling
crew scheduling
maintenance
route planning
finance
etc
Most of these functions will have large databases.
Indeed the AI IT could be "thrown away" very quickly, but all the data from the above would be lost including bookings, FF details, aircraft flight histories and service/repairs.
AI like most airlines will have a mix of in house and third party IT products.
It takes months of preparations to migrate this level of data to another IT provider..
Do you know if UA's IT infrastructure could handle all the data within the AI systems?
